Public Hearing Residential Code: Section 331 Family Home Child Care - 01/12/2024

Event Description

The State Building Code Council will be holding a Public Hearing to receive public comments on proposed changes to WAC 51-51 International Residential Code regarding Chapter Provisions for Family Home Child Care.

The hearing will be dedicated to testimony on the amendments to the 2021 International Residential Code to adopt modified provisions for Family Home Child Care for up to 16 children in a Family Home Child Care use.

To facilitate testimony, we are asking all who wish to testify at the hearing to fill out and submit the Public Testimony Sign Up Sheet at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the hearing. Please clarify if you are testifying in person, or via Zoom or phone. Your name will be called by the Hearing Officer when it is your turn to testify.

The current time allotted per testifier is 5 minutes. The Hearing Officer may further limit testimony time due to time constraints. Be advised that registering to testify does not guarantee you a chance to speak or to speak at specific times. Council staff is unable to assist you with any individual connection, zoom link, or other technical issue you may experience. Please see Testimony Guidelines for information and instructions for tips on how to address any common link or other technical issues.

Written testimony can be provided to sbcc@des.wa.gov at any time until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 12, 2024.  You do not need to fill out a sign-up form to provide written testimony.
